This is the Pink Heart Jersey, submitted by a new user. This design was inspired by my daughter who will wear almost anything as long as it is pink. It is even better if it is pink and has a heart on it.

Here’s the inagural JOTM: Team JOTM. Created by Simon Telfer of Moter Design.
Full zip, top of the line custom sublimated Pearl Izumi jersey, in a slightly (but not too) relaxed fit.

jerseyofthemonth.com is a new site that will offer a curated collection of exclusive, limited-edition bicycle jerseys and other bicycling apparel.
There will be a strong focus on building a community of cyclists who care about cycling for fitness and transportation, and who participate in bicycling related philanthropy, such as fund raising rides like the MS 150, etc.

One of the coolest parts of Jersey of the Month is user submitted jerseys. Here is one such jersey.

We’re wrapping up site setup, and the inaugural jersey of the month will soon be available for order.
I’m coming up with what I think will be an attractive incentive to be one of the first to own the Team JOTM jersey. Stay tuned for more details.

I just noticed that we’ve been publicized as the first user of the just-released Active.com events syndication API (that’s what drives the content in the widget about halfway down the front page).
If you’ve gotten here from Active, thanks for visiting. There’s still a little dust, but over the weekend we should be able to get better organized. Bookmark us and come back and see us early next week. If in the meantime you have any questions/comments, send a note to info at jerseyofthemonth dot com

Site, as you can see, is still under construction. We have a design and site map under development as I type.
PS. I’ll figure out a way to post a better, more detailed picture.

Some of you have gotten this via snail- or e-mail. Repeated here for your convenience; for others, welcome and here’s who we are and how we’re asking for your help.
Deadline for publication at launch is 15 June 2009.
Who we are:
jerseyofthemonth.com is a new site that will offer a curated collection of exclusive, limited-edition bicycle jerseys and other bicycling apparel. The site will be monetized by the sale of these jerseys and by a few advertisements. There will be a strong focus on building a community of cyclists who care about cycling for fitness and transportation, and who participate in bicycling related philanthropy, such as fund raising rides like the MS 150, etc.
A substantial percentage of the net proceeds from this site will be donated to bicycling advocacy groups and bicycling related philanthropy, as advised by the community.
We’re just building out the site so there’s not much content there [here] now. Soft launch will be mid- to late June 2009; full launch will be approximately one month thereafter.
If you like what you’ve read so far, read on for more details on how you can help.
How you can help:
We are soliciting articles/blog posts from groups like yours [industry figures representing both non-profit and for-profit organizations]. In exchange for your submission and your posting a link to our site on your site, we are happy to publish your content, to give you a link to your group, and to put your group’s website on our blogroll.
We would also be happy to consider requests for funding or donations from your organization; please note that the size and frequency of such donations will be limited at first, but as we grow we expect to be able to send most of our net proceeds to groups like yours.
What we’d like to see:
* Articles or blog posts on issues of current interest to cyclists who are interested in bicycling advocacy and bicycling related philanthropy.
* Written by someone who speaks for your group (Director, etc); please provide the name and a contact email; if you’d like the contact email published, please advise. Either way is fine.
* Link that you’d like to appear at the end of the article/post.
* Link that you’d like to appear in the blogroll.
* Graphic, if any, that you’d like to appear with the article (e.g. your organization’s logo).
* We’d like you to post our logo on your site, with a link to ours.
* Please submit by Monday, 15 June for publication at our site’s launch
* We’re happy to have you continue to submit content over time; if you’re willing to make a commitment to regularly supply content, we can talk about giving your organization a more prominent presence on our site.
You don’t necessarily have to create something new; if you have content that’s already been written that you’re willing to share, feel free to submit that.
What you should expect:
Once your article is accepted for publication, we’ll send you a notification, then once it’s actually posted (we probably won’t post all the submissions at once), we’ll send you a link to the online posting.

We intend, after recouping our initial investment, to donate as much of our net proceeds as our cash flow (and the IRS) will allow to bicycling advocacy and bicycling-related philanthropy. It’ll be a fairly democratic process: users will be able to propose and make a case for their favorite causes. Then we’ll select those that seem to make the greatest impact, donate to them, and report those donations to the community.
Early suggestions? Make them in the comments, or send a note to info@jerseyofthemonth.com

We’re shooting for a soft launch in mid- to late June and a full launch about a month thereafter.
Over the next weeks, look for us to start to populate content, and otherwise build out the site. As always, you’re welcome to contact us at info@jerseyofthemonth.com.
PS. Look for us on Twitter and Facebook soon!

We’re working out a deal with a top name supplier of bicycle jerseys to produce unique, user-submitted designs. Each run will be a limited edition; when they’re gone, they’re gone.
In addition to a gallery of user-submitted designs, there will be plenty of bicycle advocacy content, a discussion forum, and guest appearances by key figures from the world of cycling.
Stay tuned. If you have any suggestions, or any designs you’d like to submit early, email us at info@jerseyofthemonth.com.
